The government says Cambodia is set to produce its first oil by December 12, 2012 and US oil giant Chevron says it is technically ready to begin production. Chevron operates and has a 30 percent interest in Cambodia’s offshore Block A, an area covering 1.2 million acres (4,709 sq km) in the Gulf of Thailand.
